The original house from the Victorian period had several functional problems. The new extension provides thirty six square meters of open space to be used as a modern kitchen. The relation with the exterior is amplified through an operable glass façade, allowing for the dinning area to expand to the terrace and garden. In between the kitchen and the existing house a long skylight marks the distinction between old and new and allows for natural light to go through to the living room. Over the working table, a squared skylight frames the sky.
