The project consists in the transformation of a three storey building into one single family house. The building has its main façade towards the avenue but the back façade is half-buried so it was necessary to create a patio on this side of the house to ensure a second source of natural light and ventilation.
The ground floor and the 1st floor are organized through a longitudinal wall that divides the existing space. On the ground floor, one side of this wall is occupied by the entrance and service areas; on the other side, there is a multifunctional room (garage, gymnasium, office) that ends up in a big pivoting window that opens to the patio. On the 1st floor the longitudinal wall separates the children rooms from the main suite.
The second floor is occupied by the social areas organized in a more open layout. Above these spaces there is a mezzanine, an informal space dedicated to the children, accessible through a metallic stair that connects all the spaces of the house vertically.
