The new municipal housing building occupies a privileged position in the territory. In the border between the urban area and the farmland, the building takes advantage and responds to these two conditions. The new building occupies the last empty buildable plot, and completes the urban scheme, at the same time standing out as a singular object in the landscape, opening new possibilities of visual and physical relations between the urban area and the landscape.
The building’s squared shape creates in its interior a public courtyard. This courtyard extends the surrounding green space towards the interior of the new block ensuring the continuity of the existing pedestrian network.
The apartments and the student’s residence are organized around this collective space, formalizing through a simple geometry an idea of community living
